ABSTRACT:

Here I’ll overview my research activities in Australia over the past decade, focusing on two key research areas. First, I’ll describe how the extirpation of keystone species impacts ecosystem dynamics via trophic cascades in arid and semi-arid landscapes. Second, I’ll overview how historical fire regimes impact vegetation diversity / structure and carbon sequestration in east Australian forests. Finally, I’ll describe how this research has informed my current work in the MegaPast2Future group at BIOCHANGE.
