The Department of Bioscience aims to strengthen the collaboration between businesses, research and students. Therefore, the Business Committee is launching a new initiative: BIO Match -a networking and career day, which will take place in Stakladen at Aarhus University. More than 100 students, researchers and representatives from the business community have already registered for the event.

Joint forum for ideas

The event has one clear goal: To bring businesses closer to the department’s researchers and students and vice versa.

"In order to create a more sustainable future, it is incredibly important that research and industry work together and exchange knowledge and need for knowledge," says Annette Bruhn, senior researcher and Chairman of the Business Committee at the Department of Bioscience.

“With Bio Match, we will initiate a joint forum where contacts between researchers, students and businesses are created, and ideas are generated and developed. Collaboration can be implemented in many ways: research and development projects, industrial PhD and postdocs and in business projects that are targeted at students. And the students really want to cooperate with the business community,” she adds.

Presentations and stands

Participation is free, and the event will be a mixture of short presentations and a marketplace. Here, businesses, organisations and authorities can place their own stands, where they can present themselves to the participating researchers and students.

You can also meet several foundations that support interdisciplinary research collaboration with businesses, special interest organisations and government agencies and institutions.

Job opportunities for students

“We hope primarily to establish some good contacts and generate exciting ideas that in time can develop into partnerships. And then, of course, our talented students get the opportunity to create a network and become acquainted with the wealth of job opportunities for biologists in the private sector,” says Annette Bruhn.
