Experimental fields

Department of Bioscience runs an experimental field named ‘Påskehøjgaard’ located north of Aarhus. The experimental fields have an area of 5 ha and comprises a wide selection of plants grown as a resource for research and teaching in plant systematics, morphology and plantgeography, as well as for conducting controlled experiments with plants. The facility also comprise an arboretum with a wide selection on boreal temperate trees and shrubs, and a small pond with wetland vegetation.

Three experimental greenhouses, ca. 1000 m2 in total area, serve as breeding and testing sites for warm temperate, Mediterranean and tropical species. The greenhouses are subdivided into subsections with individual control of temperature, humidity and light. One section contains a growth facility for submerged aquatic plants.
