Getting to Center for Geomicrobiology


When you are going to visit us at Aarhus University, you can either fly to Aarhus Airport (AAR), which is placed in the little town of Tirstrup outside Aarhus, or to Billund Airport (BLL).

Please note that there are more direct flights in Europe to Billund Airport than to Aarhus Airport. Billund Airport is 1 hr. 15 min. drive by bus from Aarhus city center. From Aarhus Airport to Aarhus city center it takes 45 min. by bus.

Another possibility is to fly to Copenhagen Airport (CPH), also called Kastrup Airport, and take the train to Aarhus. The train ride takes approximately 3 hours.

You should get off at the last stop called "Ndr. Ringgade v/Randersvej", when arriving with the airprot bus from Aarhus Airport,

You should get of at at the last stop called "Margrethepladsen 1 v/Scandinavian Centre" (Radisson Blu Hotel), when arriving with the airport bus from Billund airport.


Aarhus is well connected by train to both Germany and Copenhagen (the capital of Denmark). Train journeys within Denmark are operated by DSB. The train journey from Copenhagen to Aarhus takes around 3 hours. From Hamburg in Germany the journey to Aarhus takes around 5 hours and can be booked via Deutsche Bahn.
