BACI - TOWARDS A BIOSPHERE ATMOSPHERE CHANGE INDEX

The BACI project seeks to detect changes in ecosystems and their functioning by using remote sensing data. Thereby monitoring the state and transformation of ecosystems and anthropogenic impacts.

Ecoinformatics & Biodiversity at Aarhus University contributes to the project by:

  • Leading the work on implications for biodiversity research and monitoring (WP8)
  • Contributing ground data (WP3), particularly bird and plant biodiversity databases and Danish LiDAR data
  • Assessment of biodiversity change through time and relationships with BACI products
  • Enhanced species distribution models leveraging high-resolution BACI data
  • Assessments of biodiversity vulnerability to change
