For ten day over the fall break BSc student at ECOINF Charlotte Brown Petersen joined PhD student at IBONE, Corrientes, Argentina, Carolina Silva for fieldwork to study the palm Butia yatay which abounds in northern Argentina.

Charlotte studies the palm’s contribution to ecosystem services and Carolina studies its phylogeography. They were joined by their supervisors, professor Henrik Balslev and senior scientists Viviana Solis Neffa. The fieldwork was funded by the Troels Myndel Pedersen Foundation for botanical collaboration between Argentina and Denmark.
